Introduction to our Carbon Management Strategy

The University of Wales recognises that it has an impact on the environment as a result of it's carbon emissions. We set about minimising this impact by taking part in the Carbon Trust Higher Education Carbon Management Programme and compiling a Carbon Management Strategy and Implementation Plan. 

During October 2008 we received a certificate from the Carbon Trust for the successful completion of the Higher Education Carbon Management Programme. The University was one of 16 universities to take part in the programme that involved the production of a Carbon Management Strategy and Implementation Plan (SIP). The SIP document sets out our commitment to reducing carbon emissions over the next 5 years and outlines a number of proposed energy efficiency projects that will be implemented to achieve this objective. Many of the projects highlighted in the SIP have been implemented as Environmental Projects.
